Women By Men:
A visual and verbal exploration
Identity creation through hyper-feminine fashion
My final year project aims to explore how hyper-feminine fashion can be harnessed as a form of revolt and identity creation through the process of self-imaging.
As women we are constantly being subjected to the contradictions of the male gaze and through my project I aim to find the words to help women verbalise this plight.
The publication is a fictional compilation of my personal experiences with regards to the objectification of women. All things associated with women are taken to the extremes to create discomfort and provoke thought.
All images shot are treated with a soft filter that is reminiscent of 70s erotica, in order to manifest the male gaze more tangibly. All text are written by me.
Done during my time at Lasalle College of the Arts in
BA(Hons) Fashion Media & Communications.
